BBC’s “Have Your Say” on global warming
25/06/2009 by admin.
The BBC’s “Have Your Say” website has had the topic “Should we do more to prevent global warming?”.
This makes some interesting reading to see what other people think about this subject. What is astonishing and very worrying is the amount of comments on there from people with their heads in the sand in a state of denial about the overwhelming evidence for Climate Change. The governments/media around the world MUST do more to educate the masses.
Have Your Say - should we do more to prevent global warming?

Reducing energy consumption when on holiday
02/06/2009 by admin.
Now that we are getting into holiday season, how can you keep your energy use to a minimum whilst you are away?
- Turn off all appliances in the home which do not need to be left on. Make sure that they are not on standby.
- Switch heating and hot water off. Some boilers have a ‘holiday’ mode. Alternatively, turn the thermostat right down.
- If you have a light on a timer for security, make sure that it has a low energy bulb.
- If driving to your holiday destination, follow the driving/transport tips on the Green Saving Expert website and keep your speed down - see the previous blog entry ‘Most economical speed for driving’
- During your holiday, remember to try to keep your energy usage low. Just because someone else is paying the bills doesn’t mean that you should waste energy.
But most of all, have a good time and enjoy your holiday.
